PostSubject: Guild Loot Policy Comments   Tue Jul 01, 2008 4:45 pm

Since we are having to rebuild raiding teams, a restatement of Guild policies on looting, dkp and distribution needs to be addressed.

My most significant complaint, to date, has been with this subject. It chapped me to hear, "This is the best [whatever] in the game, it is going to [whomever] for the guild, since they're going to be here a long time." If this is going to be the case, it needs to be stated up front.

If DKP is dead, state it in writing under the guild policies. A DKP system will make pugging harder during the rebuilding, perhaps it should be suspended, temporarily. That said: if you raid regularly, you will have DKP; if you have DKP you can bid up to your limit on epic loot. I see little reason to use DKP for anything short of epic quality items.

Personally, I like the DKP auction system most. The single closed bid does speed things considerably, but it requires 100% trust in the individual managing the bids [and before someone makes a snippy comment, I have 100% trust in Gentle running looting].

I can live with most looting systems but I have to know what it is, and finding out what the policy is when I can't roll/bid at looting time makes not for a "happy camper."

And whatever the policy/system is, it applies to everyone, no exceptions (unless stated prior to invites).

Although I love your enthusiasm, I do. The guild is dead. We won't be raiding any time soon. Well, unless you expect to start from the ground up, at Kara.
